Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks before treatment
Stop retinoids, exfoliating acids (AHA/BHA) and benzoyl peroxide 5–7 days before
No waxing, depilatory creams or electrolysis in the area for 1 week before
Tell us about any acne medication (such as isotretinoin) or cold sore history — you may need an antiviral prescription
Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotion or sunscreen on the treatment area
CO2 Laser Contraindications — Who Should Not Be Treated
CO2 laser resurfacing is safe for most healthy patients, but certain conditions mean we cannot — or should not — treat you. We review your full medical history at your complimentary consultation:
Accutane (isotretinoin) within the last 6 months
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Active skin infection, cold sore, open wound or sunburn in the treatment area
Active acne flare-ups, eczema, psoriasis or dermatitis in the treatment area
A history of keloid scarring or poor wound healing
Autoimmune conditions affecting the skin (such as lupus) — cleared case by case
Recent chemical peel, other laser treatment or waxing in the area (usually 2 weeks before)
Medications that increase photosensitivity — tell us everything you take
Darker skin tones can carry a higher risk of pigment changes — we'll assess your skin and advise
Uncontrolled diabetes or conditions that impair healing
After VeloPeel — Gentle Recovery (1–3 Days)
VeloPeel is a superficial treatment, so recovery is light and quick. Here's what to expect and how to care for your skin:
Expect mild redness and a warm, sunburn-like feeling for 1–3 days — most patients return to normal activities the next day
